The Herbarium Library comprises approximately 30,000 volumes ranging in age from the mid-16th century to the present. Part of our collection belongs to the OSU Libraries system and can be checked out by request through the Biology-Pharmacy Library (BPL).
The remainder of the collection belongs to the Herbarium. We acquire new volumes in our areas of special interest and key use -- floras, systematics methodology, plant anatomy and morphology, history of plant taxonomy, and general plant taxonomic works. We also maintain a collection of important herbaria on microfiche, including the Linnaean and DeCandolle collections.
While not all of our holdings have been cataloged in OSCAR, many have been. Inquire with the Curators or Director for access.
