Online Specimen Access

We are in the process of imaging and databasing our specimens using the BRAHMS application. We began with types and Ohio vascular plant specimens and will progress through the rest of the collections.

Our databasing efforts have thus far been supported by three NSF grants, one for our core Ohio specimens, a second as part of a research grant focusing on Ericaceae and related families, and the third as part of a nationwide effort to capture label data from lichens.

The types were imaged with support from the Mellon Foundation as part of a broader types imaging project; those images are viewable at JSTOR Plant Science.  Links to the types and general vascular plants images/databases are available below.

All specimens from Ohio have now been imaged and databased (>160,000) and are available.
