Division of Invertebrate Zoology

The Division of Invertebrate Zoology at The Ohio State University Museum of Biological Diversity is a major center for research on the evolution, ecology, taxonomy and conservation of global invertebrate biodiversity.

The Division maintains several important natural history collections of invertebrates: Bivalve Mollusks, Gastropods (and other mollusks), Crustaceans, and General Invertebrates. These collections were historically curated separately, but are now managed as part of one division.

Research, teaching, and outreach by our scientists helps to document and conserve our planet's biodiversity in the face of global change.
