Angelika Nelson received a staff professional development grant to attend the 50th Annual Environmental Education Council of Ohio conference at Deer Creek State parl on April 6-9, 2017.

She is particularly excited about participating in one of the workshops on “Experiencing Science Education in Soundscape Camp & Measuring Youth Conceptual Understanding and Interest.” This workshop will focus on the design and use of activities related to learning about soundscapes, the acoustic properties of a place, composed of biological, geophysical and anthropogenic sound source. As the curator of the OSU animal sound archive she is especially interested in birdsong. This workshop aligns with her professional development goal of raising awareness of wildlife and nature among college students and the general public.
