Participants in the Mathematical Biosciences Institute summer undergraduate program visited the MBD on 7 June, 2017. Their first stop was in the herbarium where Dr. John Freudenstein showedd them how plants are being preserved.
Next Dr. Norm Johnson welcomed them in the Triplehorn insect collection.
Undergraduate student assistant Grant Terrell had prepared all kinds of tetrapods for the students to marvel over.
Finally they visited a collection of a different kind, the Borror Laboratory of Bioacoustics where curator Angelika Nelson let them listen to some of the many bird song recordings in the collection.
