After a decade of success with our Open House, we have growing pains of a new sort: overcrowding! We know that crowds and intensity of the full event is difficult for some of our visitors to navigate and so we are piloting a program targeted at visitors who might be better able to participate in a less intense and congested environment. From 1-3:30 on Friday, March 22, we are offering a limited-run, special preview of the 2019 Museum of Biological Diversity Open House. The main event is March 23, from 10-4.
Our theme this year is Habitat for Biodiversity, an exploration of the ways that organisms adapt themselves to their environment and modify their environment to their needs. This preview event will focus on the offerings within the collections. Participation in the preview event is free but requires pre-registration via the link below; this will allow us to plan for our visitors and ensure that the number of participants remains manageable.
The preview and the main event are held at the Museum of Biological Diversity, 1315 Kinnear Rd, Columbus OH 43212. Both are free, and the main event requires no preregistration.
If you have questions about the preview, please reach out the MBD Director, Marymegan Daly (daly.66@osu.edu) or the event coordinator, George Keeney (keeney.1@osu.edu). General information about the Open House is available online at https://mbd.osu.edu/open-house We hope you’ll join us at one of these events!
