The Museum of Biological Diversity, The Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, and the Ohio Environmental Council partnered to develop a traveling pop-up exhibit and educational program on freshwater mussels. The exhibit aims to educate the public about freshwater biodiversity that exists in their backyard. Featuring freshwater mussel specimens from The Museum of Biological Diversity’s Invertebrate Collection, the exhibit will be stationed at the Columbus Zoo, Hilliard Library, and Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park.

You can catch the display at the following dates and locations:

  • Ohio Center for Wildlife Conservation (OCWC) at the Zoo: April 25-May 3, and May 5-8, 2026

  • Hilliard Branch Library: May 11-18, 2026

  • Battelle Darby Creek Metro Park: May 18-25, 2026
